Life has been hectic here. I've been wanting to sit down and blog but time just hasn't allowed for that. Between birthdays, a family funeral (more on that later), house renovations and end of school year events for our senior. It's been almost non stop...but in a good way. I am glad to be able to join in this week on the Happy Homemaker Monday posts done by Sandra over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom .
The Weather:::
Today is gorgeous. We're finally getting some sun and temps in the 70's. It's wonderful. (we even got in our first family bike ride of the season yesterday)
As I look outside my window:::
Beautiful sunshine pouring through the windows. The crab apple tree is in full bloom with lovely pink flowers.
Blogging, waiting for bread dough to rise. Just taking a minute before jumping into the rest of my day.
Thinking and pondering:::
On my bedside table:::
Water bottle, phone charger, notecards, multiple books.
On my tv this week:::
The birds singing.
On the Breakfast plate:::
On the dinner plate:::
On the menu for this week:::
On my to do list today:::
Plans for this week:::
What I am creating:::
From the camera:::
I shared this a few years ago after my great Aunt had passed and thought it was fitting to share again.
Only One Life
C.T. Studd
Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgment seat;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its days I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
When this bright world would tempt me sore, When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Give me Father, a purpose deep, In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife, Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Oh let my love with fervor burn, And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone, Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one, Now let me say, “Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call, I know I’ll say ’twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

It's been nice to jump back in this week. I hope you all have a lovely week.
I am with you on dietary changes. I am try to be better. Have a great week enjoy the weather.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, with summer coming it should be a bit easier to switch with so many fresh vegetables. Have a wonderful week too!
DeleteI adore that poem. Also, I had no idea that there was a book written about the book of Jude, I need to read it. Have a beautiful week!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much God has to say through Jude; and as always with Scripture, how timely that message still is today.
DeleteHomemade bread, must smell heavenly in the house! Would love to see pictures of your crochet tunic. What a nice story about your grandma and the birds. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteI will definitely share pictures when the top is done.
DeleteThat poem is wonderful. I had never read it in its entirety that I remember of. Loved the story about your Gram and the snow globe! ❤
ReplyDeleteIt's a good reminder to keep my focus on what will truly last and let go of things that won't.
DeleteI LOVE that poem. My Mom has the last stanza of it written on her wall, an it is wonderful! I also love your story about the cardinals! We have one male and two female cardinals that visit our birdhouses on our porch each day! My kids have named them, no idea what lol. We also don't see movies much but we saw Mario a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it! If you decide to share your better eating menu let me know, I have GOT to change my habits as well! I am following, so maybe we can encourage one another!
ReplyDeleteMy gram always named the birds that came to her feeder too! She named the woodpecker pairs after US Presidents and their wives. We debated seeing Mario; but chose Dungeons & Dragons instead. So far I've found some Keto recipes we'll be trying and will be switching us to brown rice. We have no plans to go Keto it just helps to find recipes that incorporate vegetables as the main ingredient.
